Whereas the Lieut.-Governor and the Honorable Court of Policy, have appointed J. G. Reed, Esq. to be Protector of Indians for the District of Mahaica and Mahaicony, vacant by the removal of the Hon. William Austin to Essequebo.
All persons whom it may or doth concern, are requested therefore, to respect J. G. Reed, Esq. in his capacity as Protector of Indians as aforesaid accordingly.

For Sale - the Premises of the Subscriber, being a full Water-Lot; and lease renewed. The House is a strong building, forty feet long and twenty-five wide, just covered in wallaba shingles, and repaired; with two ranges of buildings in the yard, serving as stores, negro houses, kitchen, &c. The premises can be viewed at any time.

His Excellency the Commander in Chief has been pleased to make the following Promotion in the Demerary Militia: -
Rifle Company.
Serjeant John Croal, to be Second Lieutenant - vice Batty, promoted.
O. Kernan, Gent. to be Second Lieutenant - vice Crossman, invalided.
Adjutant-General's Office, George-Town, Demerary, the 27th June, 1816.

Arrival. - Schooner L'Adbere, twenty-eight days from St. John, New Brunswick, N.A.

Departed this Life, on Tuesday last - D. J. Markordt, Esqr. Organist of St. George's Church.
