WANTS A SITUATION,
A CARPENTER, arrived a few days since from Europe, to whom, in an approved situation, Salary will be no particular object for the present. Application to be made at the Royal Gazette Office, or to D. SMITH.
Who has for Sale, some Cotton Hammocks, 7 by 10 and 11 feet, for Four Joes; also hams, tea and sugar, old rum, brandy and gin, brown stout, sherry, claret, and Madeira wine in bottles, tobacco in hogsheads and in barrels, ready made cloths, gentlemen's shoes and boots, ladies' parasols, Irish linen, Russia sheeting, chintz, checks, callicoes, handkerchiefs, neckcloths, table cloths, lavender water, nails assorted, crockery and glass ware, stationery, jewellery, cutlery, brass ware, &c.

The underwritten begs leave to give into your consideration, that the respective claims, rendered to you, are of such small sums in themselves that it is hardly worth the while to call again on you for the payment thereof - at the same time, that there are so many of those small claims, that the whole of them together amounts to a handsome sum of money for the poor Orphans; and, therefore, takes the liberty to request you, most friendly, to send him those trifling sums, and you will really oblige

PICKED UP, a few days ago, by the crew of the Maria, Capt. COWLEY, a PUNT. The owner may have it by paying the expences of advertising, and giving some gratuity to the seamen for taking care of it. August 5th.

THE Proprietors of the Canal commencing from the Estates formerly called Eve Leary and Labourgade to Cuming's Lodge, have met and appointed us, the undersigned, Commissaries of said Canal, with instructions to prevent, and in case of need, to prosecute all persons who may navigate craft of any kind, or hard timber in said Canal, who are not interested in the same; as also to prevent all Negroes from using the banks of the Canal as a road. - NOTICE is hereby given that the regulations regarding said Canal will be strictly enforced, and further, that all Negroes found trespassing will be sent to the Colony Barracks, whether provided with a pass or otherwise.
Person having timber laying in the Canal are cautioned to have the same removed within eight days from the date hereof, otherwise the undersigned Commissaries will be under the necessity of having it taken out, and sold to pay the labour.

NOTICE.
THE Subscriber intends quitting this Colony for a short time; requests all those who may have any demands against him to render their claims as early as possible for examination - those who are indebted to him are once more requested to settle their accounts, notes, &c. without delay, to prevent their being sued.
He further informs all whom it may concern, that Mr. W. F. DOBBRAUSKI is fully authorised to transact all his business in his absence, and to whom he has given strict orders, that all such accounts, notes of hand, &c. as remain unpaid after a short period from this, should be placed in the hands of his lawyer, to recover the same in the speediest manner possible.
