    Notes
    • Variously known as Henry (Anglicised) or Henrique (Francified)
Sent two sons and daughter to England to be educated.
      Granted double-depth plantation
Witness in trial of John Smith
Cited in debate in British House of Commons regarding John Smith
Presumably not referred to in orphan's chamber notice to creditors of estates
Plantations Vryheid Lust and Sheet Anchor, on the East Coast of Demerary between Better Hope on the south and Brothers on the east, the propert of the heirs of the late Hendrick Van Cooten advertised to be sold in July 1834
Hendrik's will is dated 13th of August 1825. This is inconsistent with the item on the London Gazette of 31 Oct 1848. I suspect that the year in the London Gazette article is wrong, and should be 1826. [12, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23]
